Outdoor Cover Fabric Guide: Sunbrella, WeatherMax & Top Notch

Outdoor cover fabric guide: Good, Better, Best

Every National Canvas cover is offered in three marine-grade fabrics. All three are built for sun and weather. The difference is how long they hold their color and how they feel. Here is how to choose.

Sunbrella (Best)

The industry standard. Solution-dyed acrylic that resists fading for years, sheds water, breathes, and is backed by a long manufacturer warranty. If you want the cover that looks new the longest, with the richest color options, this is it. Our top pick for furniture and anything on display.

WeatherMax (Better)

A lighter, very strong solution-dyed marine fabric with excellent water resistance and great value. It packs down smaller and is easy to handle. A smart middle choice for grills, equipment, and covers you take on and off often.

Top Notch (Good)

A durable, solution-dyed polyester that protects well on a budget. The right call for utility covers and equipment where long-term color matters less than solid, affordable protection.

How to choose

  • Want it to look premium the longest: Sunbrella.
  • Want strength, light weight, and value: WeatherMax.
  • Want solid protection at the best price: Top Notch.
