How to Measure Your Boat

Getting a perfect custom fit takes about five minutes on the boat, and you do it after your kit arrives. Here is how it works.

1. Mount the hardware

Your kit arrives with the mounting hardware and poles. The hardware installs with just four screws, and the poles drop into your boat's existing rod holders.

2. Stand the poles and run the rope

Set your poles in the rod holders and thread the rope we provide through everything so the layout is held in place, just like the finished shade will sit.

3. Take a few simple measurements

With the poles standing, measure the distance between pole positions and the height of each pole, and snap a few photos from the bow, stern, and each side. Our short how-to video walks you through every step.

4. Send it to us

Reply to your order email with the measurements and photos. We confirm everything with you, pattern your shade in 3D, and build it in just a few days. Nothing gets cut until your fit is confirmed.
