One fabric, chosen on purpose

We are a custom canvas shop. We could build your shade in a dozen different fabrics, and for years we offered exactly that. We stopped. After 52 years of marine canvas we have not found anything that beats Stamoid over a boat, and we would rather stand behind a single fabric we believe in than hand you a menu and let you pick the wrong one.

So there is no fabric upgrade to buy here, and no cheaper option to talk you into. Every shade that leaves our shop is built from the best material we can put our name on.

It pulls perfectly, every time

This is the one most people do not expect. Stamoid has almost no stretch and no memory, so it does not hold a crease and it does not relax over a season. Stuff it in its bag wet at the end of the day, pull it out three weekends later, and it deploys tight and clean, in perfect form. No careful folding, no creases to work out, no sag by August.

100% UVB protection

It blocks UVB completely. That is the burn, and it is the reason the shade is up in the first place. The space underneath stays fully shaded and dramatically cooler.

It lasts in the sun

100% waterproof. It stops rain completely rather than soaking through and dripping.
Backed by a 5-year warranty, and in practice a good deal longer. A Sunshade is deployed for a few hours at a time rather than left standing in the sun year round, and the shades we have built have run well past the warranty with no color fading and no loss of performance.
Anti-mold and anti-mildew. Highly stable in heat, salt, and humidity, and it wipes clean.
Holds its perfect form. Engineered to tension tight and clean, and stay that way, trip after trip.

PTFE lifetime thread

Most shades do not fail at the fabric, they fail at the seams, because cheap thread rots in UV. We sew with 100% PTFE lifetime thread, the premium standard at around $200 a spool. It will never rot in the sun, so your stitching outlasts everything around it.

Why cheap shades fail

Big-box and import boat shades use coated polyester that fades and gets brittle, with thread that disintegrates in a season or two, so you replace them again and again. A custom shade built right is a buy-it-once decision.
