Your boat and measurements (optional)

Tell us the boat and roughly what you need. Every order is followed up with a call, so this does not have to be perfect.

You already have the track or the poles. We build the shade.

This is a custom Sunshade panel, cut to the measurements you send us and sewn by hand in our Delray Beach, Florida shop. Sport fishers, sedan bridges, express cruisers, center consoles, catamarans, houseboats, anything with track or a pole-to-pole span. We have built marine canvas for 52 years, and we ship these anywhere you keep the boat.

Who this is for

  • You already have track on the boat. Most of these are exactly that. We sew a keder rope into the edge of the panel and it feeds straight in, like the shade that came with the boat.
  • You already have poles or mounting points. Outriggers, rod holders, a tower, or a hardtop. You just need the panel to fly between them.
  • You can source the hardware yourself. Tell us what you are running and we build the panel to suit it. No kit to buy from us.
  • Your old shade is worn out. Shade fabric degrades in the sun, and eventually it goes chalky, sags, and tears. Lay the old one out flat, send us the numbers, and we build its replacement to those exact measurements.
  • Your boat is not a center console. Sport fisher cockpits, sedan bridges, and flybridges all work here.
  • You are outside the United States. We build for boats all over the world and ship to wherever you keep yours.

Track, keder, and hardware

If your boat runs track, this is the simplest version of the job. We sew a keder rope into the leading edge, and the panel feeds straight in and pulls tight with nothing else to install. You do not need to look anything up or measure the keder. We sort that out with you after you order.

No track? We fit whatever your setup calls for instead: marine-grade stainless grommets, snaps, straps, or clips, set exactly where you want them. Every attachment point is built into the panel here in the shop, so what lands at your door is ready to hang with nothing left to work out.

How it works, step by step

  1. Measure what you have. Edge to edge across the front, then front to back. If you already have a shade, lay it out flat and measure that. About five minutes.
  2. Order online. Pick your width and your depth, then type your exact measurements into the box on this page. Tell us your boat too, make and model.
  3. We confirm before we cut. A real person reads every set of numbers and comes back to you the same day, by email or a quick call. Nothing gets cut until you confirm, and we help you pick your color at this point.
  4. We build it. Patterned, cut, and sewn in a few days.
  5. We ship it. It arrives folded in its own bag, ready to feed into your track or clip to the poles you already have.

What we need from you

Type these into the measurement box when you order. Inches or feet, either is fine, just tell us which.

  • Width across the front edge
  • Width at the back edge, if it is different
  • Depth, front edge to back edge
  • How it attaches: track, grommets, snaps, straps, or clips. Just tell us which one, we take care of the rest.
  • Boat make, model, and length

Photos help a lot. Text them to the shop at (561) 270-6922 after you order and we will match them to your order.

One fabric: Stamoid

We build every Sunshade in Stamoid, and nothing else. Not because it is the only fabric we can get, but because after 52 years of marine canvas we have not found a better one, and we would rather stand behind a single fabric than hand you a menu. There is no fabric to choose here, and no upgrade to buy. You get the best one either way.

  • It pulls perfectly, every time. Stamoid has almost no stretch and no memory. Stuff it in the bag wet, pull it out next weekend, and it deploys tight and clean, in perfect form. No creases to work out, no careful folding, no sag by August.
  • 100% UVB protection. It blocks UVB completely. That is the burn, and it is the reason the shade is up in the first place.
  • It lasts in the sun. 100% waterproof, and it resists mold, mildew, and fading. Backed by a 5-year warranty, and in practice a good deal longer, because a Sunshade is deployed a few hours at a time, not left up year round.
  • It is the best sunshade material you can buy. There is no fabric we would rather put over your cockpit.

14 colors, from Snow White through Navy and Black, and we can color-match your cushions, canvas, or hull. See every color we build in and we will email you the Stamoid color card.

Built with no shortcuts

  • Fabric: Stamoid, in all 14 colors. One fabric, chosen because it is the best, not because it is what we had.
  • Thread: 100% PTFE lifetime thread, around $200 a spool. Ordinary thread rots in the sun and seams fail. PTFE never does, so your stitching outlasts everything around it.
  • Edges: double-reinforced perimeter and triple-reinforced corners on every panel.
  • Keder: sewn into the leading edge, in black or white.
  • Hardware: marine-grade stainless grommets, snaps, and YKK double-pull zippers where the build calls for them.
  • Included: a drawstring storage bag in matching fabric.
  • Custom touches: your boat name or logo embroidered on the shade is available as an add-on. Just ask when we reach out.

What the price actually buys

A cheap shade goes chalky, sags, and tears in two seasons. Ours is built to outlast the boat it flies on.

Real marine fabric

Stamoid, and only Stamoid. 100% waterproof, 100% UVB protection, and color-stable in direct sun. Not the coated tarp that comes folded in a box.

100% PTFE lifetime thread

The part almost every shade skimps on. Ours runs about $200 a spool and never rots in UV, so the seams outlast the panel around them.

Reinforced where it counts

Double-reinforced perimeter, triple-reinforced corners, and marine-grade stainless at every attachment point. Track keder, grommets, snaps, or clips, built to match whatever your boat already runs.

Not ready to decide? We will email you the Stamoid color card, so you can see all 14 colors we build in. Sent straight away.Or have real swatches mailed instead.
